Skeleton Crew was formed in 2005 by vocalist Cap'n Chris Christian and guitarist Graham Byron in Grantham (not a noted pirate stronhold) with a simple objective - to put together a hard rocking band that paid no attention to the current fashions, but to play the sort of punch-the-air music that so many people miss today.
Over the next 12 months they went through various additional members before settling into a comfy corner with bassist Steve Evans and second guitartist and keyboard player Rob Holsman. After recording some demos they finally completed the lineup with the addition of drummer Drew Traylor and quickly set about doing gigs here, there and everywhere, and most places in between.
Working hard on the live circuit for 9 months, they also tapped into the MySpace community and discovered a ragtag crew of likeminded souls that seemed to REALLY enjoy the music they were producing. In June 2007 they released their first CD, a bold step in that it was recorded completely live at Mansfield Intake club, as it was felt that the live environment captured the raw essence of the band. In August 2007, the band decided to take a short break from the live scene to concentrate on recording and writing new material for a studio release.
